How to Win a Grammy
Rather than hoping someone is going to swoop down and give you a Grammy, or any other music award, create it first in your mind.
Here’s how I do it.
With my eyes closed, I see it, like watching a movie.
I play my personal film over and over.
Each time I do that, more details appear. And the more real it becomes.
In my personal movie, I am at the Grammys. In the front row. With all the nominees. I’m wearing a forest green gown. When my name is called as the writer of the best original country song of the year, I scream like a wild dog, and hurry up the stairs, barefoot, to accept my award before the cute presenter changes his mind and gives it to somebody else.
I hold that imaginary Grammy award in my arms and place it on top of the bookcase in my office where awards go. I see it there every day, surrounded by all my gold records and previous music awards. The new statue has my name on it, although the song title and the date are not clear yet.
I see it every day.
Every single day.
I can see it, feel it, know exactly where it’s going to be forever, and I believe that draws it closer to me, every nanosecond of my life. I can even hear snatches of the melody. Banjo and acoustic piano, so far.
This is what we woo woo Californians call visualizing and manifesting. Our success is not up to anybody else. It’s on us. We decide what we want, we do the work, and reel it in.
